Hi! I’m Dan.

Act One

I’ve been making things online since 2011. I post about film, theatre, and pro wrestling. All the high arts. I also share life updates and can bake up a storm. As a YouTuber, i’ve watched an entire industry grow around me, and have managed to ride several waves to keep myself active and involved with the industry.

In 2018, I wrote and published my first book. ‘Baking with Layton: Also You’ was a companion to my successful YouTube series and was supported by three standing-room-only live shows at Summer in the City, the UK;s premier YouTube convention.

As a presenter, I’ve worked extensively covering film and TV, including hosting screenings and red carpets, conducting celebrity interviews and more. I have appeared on BBC Radio 1’s ScreenTalk podcast and was a panellist for EE’s BAFTA Watchalong in 2022.

I hosted a weekly wrestling podcast for WrestleTalk, and also appeared in a range of their light entertainment videos on the sister channel PartsFunKnown. My work was featured on WWE’s flagship TV show Monday Night Raw. I subsequently dipped my toe into providing live commentary for live events, including Phenomenal Elite Wrestling and New Generation Wrestling

Act Two

In 2024, I enrolled at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts to undergo training in their MA Performance - Musical Theatre course. Having wanted to be a musical theatre performer throughout my youth, only to find training inaccessible when I reached 18, I was immensely grateful to fulfil this lifelong ambition and begin a whole new chapter of my career.

While at Mountview, I performed as Harry in a production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company, and took on the role of Musidorus in Head Over Heels, a jukebox musical featuring the work of 80s new wave band The Go-Go’s.

I’m so excited to continue my work as a creator and presenter, while also marching the streets of London auditioning for any and everything. After so many years of wondering “What if…”, I’m thrilled to have an answer and won’t be letting go of my dream of performing in the West End any time soon.

In the meantime, I’m looking forward to several trips to the movies, baking my way through my 100-strong collection of cookbooks and finishing one of the several books I started reading before intense choreography tuckered me right out.
